Privacy Policy

Version 1.1 - April 19, 2026

OVIA Inc. (“we,” “our,” or “us”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy applies to the Huddlemates mobile application and the Huddlemates website (collectively, the “Service”) and explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.

  1. Information We Collect

We collect personal information (such as name and email), activity data, location data via Apple Maps and MapKit, health data via Apple HealthKit and Android Health Connect (such as steps and fitness metrics), photos uploaded by users with consent, and limited device and usage data. When you visit the Huddlemates website, we may also collect limited technical information such as IP address, browser type, and pages visited.

  1. Cookies and Similar Technologies

The Huddlemates website may use cookies or similar technologies to improve functionality, understand usage patterns, and support basic analytics. You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to provide app and website features, support Huddle-based challenges, verify activities (including through automated and AI-based systems), assign scores and rewards, improve performance, and respond to user inquiries.

  1. User-to-User Sharing (Huddles)

Huddlemates allows users to create and join groups called Huddles to motivate and support one another. Joining a Huddle is optional and requires your explicit consent. When you join a Huddle, activity progress, achievements, scores, and approved content may be visible to other Huddle members (Huddlemates).

  1. Photos and AI-Based Verification

Huddlemates allows users to upload photos to verify certain activities as part of challenges and scoring. Photo uploads are optional and require your explicit consent. Uploaded photos may be processed by Huddlemates' automated systems, including AI-based verification, solely to validate and score activities. Photos are visible only to relevant Huddlemates and are not shared publicly. You may choose whether photos are stored after verification or automatically deleted. Huddlemates does not use uploaded photos for advertising, marketing, or unrelated AI training.

  1. Service Providers and Cloud Hosting

Huddlemates uses trusted third-party cloud service providers to host backend systems, APIs, databases, and stored content. These providers process data solely on Huddlemates' behalf and in accordance with our instructions. Service providers are contractually obligated to protect your information and maintain confidentiality.

  1. International Data Transfers

Your information may be stored or processed on servers located outside your state or country. We take reasonable steps to ensure that your data receives an adequate level of protection.

  1. Data Sharing

Huddlemates does not sell or rent personal, activity, location, health, or photo data. Data is shared only with platform services required for app functionality (such as Apple and Android services), trusted cloud service providers acting on our behalf, other users you explicitly approve (such as your Huddlemates), or when legally required.

  1. Health Data (Apple HealthKit and Android Health Connect)

Huddlemates integrates with Apple HealthKit and Android Health Connect only with your explicit consent. We request access only to the specific data types needed to enable app features such as activity tracking, challenges, and progress insights (for example, steps or fitness activity data).

Health data is used solely to provide and improve these features within Huddlemates. We do not use health data for advertising, marketing, profiling, or monetization purposes.

Huddlemates does not sell, rent, or share health data with third parties. Health data is only:

  • Stored securely as needed to provide app functionality

  • Displayed within your Huddles in aggregated or summary form, where applicable

  • Processed in accordance with your permissions and settings

We follow the principle of data minimization, collecting only the health data necessary for the features you choose to use.

You remain in full control of your data. You may revoke Huddlemates’ access at any time:

  • Apple HealthKit: through your device’s Health settings

  • Android Health Connect: through your device’s Health Connect settings

If you revoke access, Huddlemates will no longer collect new health data from these sources. Previously collected data can be deleted through in-app controls or by contacting us.

  1. . Location Data

Location data is used to enhance activity tracking and squad-based features. Location and HealthKit data are processed independently and are never combined for advertising or tracking purposes.

  1. Data Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your data.

  1. Your Rights

You may access, correct, delete your data, delete uploaded photos, or withdraw consent at any time by contacting privacy@huddlemates.com or using in-app controls. You may also request deletion of health data collected via Apple HealthKit or Android Health Connect at any time.

  1. Children’s Privacy

Huddlemates is intended for family use but not for independent use by children under the age of 13.

14. Policy Updates

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Continued use indicates acceptance of changes.
